Marketing-focused period in career included 5 years at a Japanese advertising agency in Tokyo, and 3 years at a public relations agency and 4 years at a local TV station in Hawaii. Subsequently managed an intercultural management program for 3 years — developing American business curriculum and coordinating U.S.-based corporate internships — for Japanese businesspeople at JAIMS, a Honolulu-based international business school owned by Fujitsu Limited. Worked at executive recruiting firms in Tokyo for 3 years, then started own firm in 1993, JFinders, establishing offices in Honolulu and Tokyo. Specialize in recruiting bilingual (Japanese-English) managers for foreign-owned IT companies in Japan, with an emphasis on placing candidates in sales, marketing, finance and engineering positions.
